In the 1930s, a common perception in South Africa and the world was that Afrikaans Reformed churches endorsed Apartheid based on the inspiration of the Bible. To this day, this same approach has been used as an argument for critical and more "dynamic" interpretations of Scripture, which has led to the acceptance of radical fenimism and the LGBTQI+ movement.
